Sairat (Marathi: "Wild") is an Indian 2016 romance film starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar. Directed by Nagraj Manjule, this is the first Indian film to record its music at Sony Scoring Stage in Hollywood, with composers Ajay-Atul. Earlier this year, the movie was also showcased at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. The songs of Sairat have already become a rage among music lovers not only in India, but also in the US. |

दरवर्षी दिवाळीमध्ये आकाशकंदिल व पणत्यांची कार्यशाळा आयोजित केली जाते. मुलांबरोबर पालकांचा ह्या कार्यक्रमात मोठ्या प्रमाणावर सहभाग असतो. मराठी शाळेतील मुलांची, पालकांची मोठ्या संखेने उपस्थिती, कार्यशाळा घरी भरविणे, आकाशकंदिल कसा बनवायचा ते शिकवणे ह्यासाठी केलेले प्रयत्न आणि सर्वांचा उत्साह वाखाणण्यासारखा होता. photos click here |

गणेशोत्सवापाठोपाठ कोजागिरी पौर्णिमा कार्यक्रम सादर करण्यात आला. उपस्थितांनी गाणी, भेळ, मसाला दूध ह्यांचा आस्वाद लुटला व कराओके आणि अंताक्षरी हा कार्यक्रम रंगात आला. click here for pics/videos |

ह्यावर्षी मंडळात आपण सर्वप्रथम श्री गणेशाची सुंदर मूर्ती आणून गणेश चतुर्थी साजरी केली. मराठमोळ्या पद्धतीच्या पोषाखात लेझीम खेळत ढोल वाजवत गणपतीबाप्पांची मिरवणूक, सुरेख आरास व आनंद मेळावा हे ह्या उत्सवाचे खास आकर्षण ठरले. आपल्या मंडळातील काही कार्यकर्त्यांनी अथक परिश्रम घेऊन गणपतीचे मखर अल्प कालावधीत बनविले. गणेशोत्सवादिवशी जेमतेम एका तासात सर्वांनी गणपतीची आरास, मखराची मांडणी आणि सजावट व संपूर्ण हॉलला पताका लावून कार्यक्रम सुरु करण्यास हातभार लावला. विशेषतः प्रथमच सॅक्रामेंटो स्टेट विद्यापिठाचे विद्यार्थी ह्या कार्यक्रमाला उपस्थित होते व त्यांनीही सजावाटीस हातभार लावला. पूजा, आरती, प्रसाद व खास भारतातून आपले स्पॉन्सर mithai4all.com यांनी चितळे बंधूंकडून पाठवलेले आंबा मोदक वाटण्यात आले. कार्यक्रमात मराठी शाळेतील जी मुले परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण झाली, त्यांना मेडल व सर्टिफ़िकेट देउन त्यांचे कौतुक करण्यात आले. India Day साठी मराठी मंडळातर्फे दोन कार्यक्रम सादर केले. केवळ ४-५ कलाकार नव्हे तर एकूण १४ कलाकारांनी सादर केलेले कोळी नृत्य आणि बाल कलाकारांचा गोविंदा हा नाच, हे दोनही कार्यक्रम लोकप्रिय झाले. Click here for pics |

मराठी शाळा परीक्षा

मराठी मंडळ सॅक्रामेंटो, बृहन्महाराष्ट्र मंडळ आणि भारती विद्यापीठ, पुणे ह्यांच्या सहकार्याने सुरु झालेल्या मराठी शाळेचा पहिला यशस्वी टप्पा आम्ही पार पाडला. भारती विद्यापीठातर्फे घेतल्या जाणाऱ्या ५ परीक्षांपैकी पहिल्या वर्गाची परीक्षा या वर्षी घेण्यात आली. पहिले वर्ष आम्ही प्रायोगिक तत्वावर शाळा सुरू करून नंतरच्या वर्षी परीक्षा घेण्याचे ठरविले होते परंतू मुलांचा उत्साह व त्यांची परीक्षेस बसण्याची तयारी पालक व शिक्षक व संयोजक यांनी करून घेतली आणि परीक्षा घेणे शक्य झाले. सर्वांचे खूप आभार आणि पुढील वर्षासाठी शुभेच्छा Click here for pics |

दरवर्षीप्रमाणे पाडवा व महाराष्ट्र दिन ह्या कार्यक्रमात मंडळाने लहान मुलांचे सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम सादर केलेच पण त्याचबरोबर बे एरिआतील व मंडळातील काही कलाकारांनी, सर्व रसिकांना पसंत असणारी मराठी व हिंदी चित्रपट गीते, स्वरधारा ह्या कार्यक्रमात सादर केली. आणि विशेषतः मंडळातील काही हौशी कलाकारांनी फारच कमी अवधीत भारतातील निवडणुक व पुढारयांवर आधारीत एक छोटी हास्य नाटिका सादर केली. सर्वांचे कौतुक करावे तेव्हढे कमीच!
